BUCKET FILLING SCHOOL This year the elementary schools at Algona Community School are Bucket Filling Schools. Each classroom teacher has read the book "Have You Filled a Bucket Today" by Carol McCloud to the children in their classroom. The book explains to children that everyone has an invisible bucket that holds good thought and feelings. We feel good when our buckets are full and sad when they are empty. We can fill up another person's bucket by being kind to them. However, we can also dip into another person's bucket when we are mean to them.
At each elementary school, the children are working hard to be kind, polite, and respectful so they can fill the buckets of others at school. That can be done easily by giving a smile to someone or giving a compliment to someone. We are hoping that children are filling the buckets of their family members, too.
